PTSD and Trauma

Trauma-informed care that helps you feel safe, steady, and more like yourself again.

Overview

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can develop after experiencing or witnessing a frightening, dangerous, or deeply distressing event. Symptoms may begin soon after the event or appear months or years later.

Our approach is trauma-informed: we move at a pace that feels safe, respect your choices, and focus on building stability and coping skills.

Does this sound familiar?

  • Intrusive memories, flashbacks, or nightmares
  • Avoiding people, places, or conversations that bring up reminders
  • Feeling constantly on guard, jumpy, or easily startled (hypervigilance)
  • Difficulty sleeping or concentrating
  • Feeling numb, detached, or persistently guilty or ashamed
  • Strong emotional or physical reactions to triggers

How we can help

  • A careful, respectful assessment of symptoms and their impact
  • Medication management for sleep, nightmares, anxiety, and mood when appropriate
  • Grounding and coping skills for managing triggers
  • Referral and coordination for evidence-based trauma therapies such as cognitive processing therapy (CPT) or EMDR
  • Ongoing support and safety planning
